We build more than just houses at Napolitano Homes; we create communities where you can live, grow, and enjoy life’s best moments. One of the highlights of our Bennett’s Creek Quarter (BCQ) community is its proximity to the TGIF Summer Concert Series at Bennett’s Creek Park. Diana Jordan, our on-site sales consultant at the Vineyards and Vistas at BCQ recently attended the July 26 concert featuring The Deloreans and shared some wonderful takeaways from the evening.

Bennett’s Creek Park: Just Around the Corner

Located just three turns from BCQ, Bennett’s Creek Park is a mere 0.9 miles from the intersection of Shoulders Hill Road and Bennett’s Creek Park Road. This multi-use regional park spans 56.8 acres and offers a plethora of amenities including three boat ramps accessing the Nansemond River, newly renovated tennis and/or pickleball court, covered picnic shelters, a nature trail, open fields, a fishing pier, a disc golf course, an inclusive playground, a skate park, and a stage.

Community and Fun: The Heart of Suffolk

The TGIF Summer Concert Series, organized by Suffolk Parks and Recreation, is a testament to their motto: to make memorable experiences through a culture of fun and customer service excellence. This was evident at the concert, where the event was highly organized, and the staff were helpful and welcoming. It was clear that the Parks and Recreation team lived up to their mission, creating a joyous and memorable evening for all attendees.

Highlights from the Concert Night

Rockin’ 80s Vibes: Despite an earlier rain, the skies cleared for a fantastic 80s show by The Deloreans, the areas most loved 80s tribute band. The band transported everyone back to the era of neon, big hair, and timeless music, creating an electrifying atmosphere.

Community Spirit: The event drew a diverse crowd from Newport News to Chesapeake, with local neighbors arriving on foot, by car, and even by golf cart. It was a perfect opportunity to meet and connect with local business owners and community members.

Activities and Amenities: From spontaneous soccer games to fishing and picnicking, the park offered endless opportunities for fun. Shuttles from Bennett’s Creek Recreation Center and Creekside Elementary School ensured convenient access, eliminating any parking concerns.

Memorable Encounters: Diana met numerous familiar faces, from high school acquaintances to homeowners she has connected with over the past 12 years working in Suffolk. There was even a delightful interaction with a park ranger who shared homemade BBQ with her.

Free and Fun: With free entry, the concert featured various food and beverage trucks, adding to the festive atmosphere. The sense of calm and community was palpable throughout the evening.

If there is any question why Suffolk residents love where they live, it was obvious Friday night.
